Amy Pekal is an artist and researcher. In her artistic research, she examines how dominant ideologies shape Western culture's understanding of the natural world. Working with feminist ontologies, and the concept of naturecultures, Amy uses these bases as tools to create proposals, interventions and situations that decolonize the dominant dualisms between nature and culture and imagine other ways of working through the differences, between societies and close environments. . Currently, Amy is a member of the Climate Justice Code, a fixed-term task force dedicated to the development and implementation of a code of ethics for artists and arts institutions to hold each other accountable for the values of climate justice. To implement the code within her own practice, she developed the multi-year research project: Assembled Ecologies. Conceived as a series of ongoing investigations, situated at the intersection of nature and culture, Assembled Ecologies propose living interdependently through films, texts and participatory events. The objective of Assembled Ecologies is to participate in experimental fieldwork practices and build relationships between unlikely but necessary collaborators who work to reorient Western society's relationship with the environment. In addition, to build, through differences, environmental identities that evoke repair, care, community and the commons.

Futuros Cooperativos
Cooperative Creative Futures
How can we collectively imagine ways of working together toward a future that sustains the pluriverses of our experiences?
In this way of actively practicing in collective modalities for the near future we will identify:
-Conditions from which we are situated in our perspectives.
-Acknowledgments of the mobilization or urgency located within the experiences of students, teachers, art, design, and architecture spectators.
-How to approach, analyze, and use systems theory to gain understanding of our positions within the present pluriverses.
Within the workshop, students and workshops will work together to extract knowledge present in relationships that makes them mobilize on emerging issues such as “nature-culture” (Haraway, 2003), intersectionality (Crenshaw, 1989), situated knowledge (Haraway, 1988), and developments of an awareness of how we are affected and how we affect the nearby environment. Consequently, learners can expect to recognize advantages and benefits that we experience within a horizontal, decolonial, collective and experiential learning. Therefore: how do we learn to incorporate our experiences as a tool for the development of knowledge, and translate those to design cooperative creative futures?
